The 2026 Future of Finance report is based on an Intuit-commissioned online survey conducted in May 2026 that gathered insights from 2,000 CFOs, controllers, and VPs of Finance at US businesses with over $2.5 million in annual revenue. The survey explored how finance leaders are managing data fragmentation, manual work, visibility gaps, confidence in financial insights, strategic capacity, and AI adoption in finance workflows.

The robust sample included 1,200 respondents from multi-entity businesses, enabling comparison between hyper-performers and steady operators. Hyper-performers are multi-entity respondents reporting strong year-over-year revenue growth, while steady operators are all other multi-entity respondents.
