Intuit Enterprise Suite vs Microsoft Dynamics GP
Moving from Dynamics GP? Choose what fits not just what's next.
Microsoft ends Great Plains support December 31, 2029 and recommends Business Central — but every path off GP, including that one, is a new implementation. Since you're starting fresh either way, choose on fit. Intuit Enterprise Suite is built for finance-first, multi-company teams.

The questions you're actually asking
GP still works. Why move at all?
You don’t have to move today. Microsoft will support Dynamics GP through December 31, 2029, with security updates and patches available until April 30, 2031.⁴ But an ERP move takes planning. Third-party analyses cite 9–18 months from the decision to migrate through go-live.³ Starting early gives you time to compare your options and choose what fits.
“We tried out Microsoft Dynamics for about one month, decided that it was going to take us about 10 times longer and be 10 times more expensive, so we pulled the plug and implemented six entities very quickly across the Intuit Enterprise Suite platform.”

Isn’t Business Central the obvious next step?
It may be for some companies. Microsoft recommends Dynamics 365 Business Central as the migration path from GP. It makes sense for organizations invested in Azure, Microsoft 365 or Power Platform. But moving to Business Central is a new implementation.³ That gives you a reason to consider Intuit Enterprise Suite if your priorities are multi-company financial management and consolidation.
“Our financial reporting is synced and seamless between companies so it all looks the same. It helps me in presenting financials to the ownership on what to look for, what to call out, what to show them.”

Can a cloud platform really replace 20 years of GP customization?
That depends on what your business relies on today. Start with an inventory of your GP customizations, integrations, and vertical ISV add-ons. Identify what your next system needs to support. Then evaluate Intuit Enterprise Suite and other options against that list.
"Intuit Enterprise Suite has allowed us to close our fiscal year end at least 3 months faster than previous years. For a company of our size, having that data sorted and finalized by January is a massive win for our tax planning and strategy."
